Centre for nephrology is dedicated to the understanding of kidney diseases, their development, progression, treatment and prevention. The faculty is at the forefront of patient care in the field of kidney diseases. Pursuit of excellence in patient care through the improvement of the understanding of disease processes and development of new strategies in the treatment of individuals with kidney diseaseis our primary goal.

Basic Nephrology

We offer both inpatient and OPD care to all nephrology patients round the clock. This includes counseling, management of all kidney disorders, procedures and the support of systems affected by kidney disease. Services for kidney dialysis, biopsies and kidney transplantation are available under one roof. It is a close knit unit which includes highly s pecialized nephrologists, urologists and transplant surgeons.

We also have state-of —the—art facilities for the nephropathology division. The centre for nephrology is supported by a complete biochemistry, immune-microbiology and dedicated transplant related labs for drug levels, immunohisto chemistry and HLA typing. The microbiology support in post transplant infection is excellent. This makes us among it best kidney ca re providing unit.

Critical Care Nephrology

The centre for nephrology is a maior participant in intensive care by providing care to ICU patients with acute renal failure, volume d isturbances or electrolyte acid base disorder. We have several techniques for treatment of acute renal failure such as slow continuous venovenous hemofiltration, hemadsorption, plasmaphersis etc. depending on patients requirement and underlying disease. Much of the work with ICU patients is related to the remarkably active procedures (IV CONTRAST FOR Angioplasty/Post CABG) and acute renal failures following polytrauma, multiorgan failure of any origin etc. Department is equipped for all kind of extra corporeal. therapies including SLEED/ CRRT.

Pediatric Nephrology Department

Pediatric Nephrology offers a full range of out patient renal services including diagnostic support for prenatal urological malformation and management of renal diseases and hypertension. Which include peritoneal dialysis hemodialysis Renal Biopsy.

Dialysys Services

Nutema Hospital not only provides conventional hemodialysis but also CRRT, Hemofiltration, Plasma exchanges/Plasma Pheresis & Online HDF. The department has the latest computerized bicarbonate hemodialysis machines with volumetric ultrafiltration and adiustable sodium facility to ensure patient safety. We provide 24x7 dialysis services. We have isolated units for hepatitis B and HCV infected patients. Continuous monitoring of sick patients on dialysis is done throughout the procedure with the help ofa highly specialized monitor.

With the help of a highly specialized monitor. More than 550-700 hemodialysis are performed per month (Round the clock dialysis of 4 hours each) including ICU dialysis by highly trained technical and nursing staff under the guidance of dialysis medical officer and overall supervision of senior consultants.

Kidney Transplant

Nutema Hospital Meerut is one of the leading renal transplant centers in India. We have experience of more than 100 transplants in the last decade with excellent results comparable to the best centres in the India. We have a team of very experienced transplant physician and surgeons. We are a leading centre for laparoscopic donor nephrectomy in India. A specially designed state-of-the-art transplant unit has been built for immediate post transplant care and subsequently managed with dedicated trained nurses, assigned to look after every patient. This division offers a variety of specialized procedures including renal biopsy pathology (light microscopy) with special staining procedures and direct immunoflurescence. This service is provided by a highly specialized tram of Histopathologists. FNAC is taken care by a separate experienced Cytopathologist.

Nephrology Radiology and Nuclear Medicine

  • Plain X-ray KUB gives information regarding any radio opaque shadow within the kidney/ureter/bladder.
  • IVP gives information about the structural abnormality of the uninarytract.
  • DTPA Scan (Dynamic Renal Scan)/Renogram - his investigation gives information about the blood flow to the kidneys and also how well each kidney is functioning.
  • DMSA Scan (Static Renal Scan)- Tells us about the size, shape and position of the kidneys and whether there are any scars on the kidneys from previous infections.
  • Ultrasound KUB — Gives information regarding shape, size and position of each kidney as well as information regarding the urinary bladder and the prostrate gland.
